A grand total of 88 real estate transactions closed last week and that sales number breaks down into 3 townhouses, 16 condos, and 69 houses sold. One eclectic yet modern condo in the Pearl peaked our interest, as did houses in the Northeast and the Northwest with their unique takes on modern.
Billed as the “ultimate urban retreat” and “decorator’s loft”, this 1,432 square foot loft in the Pearl District’s Edge Lofts sold for $400K. I’d be more likely to peg it as “eclectic elegance married to modern” especially with the Harry Potter-esque floating chairs (aka unique storage solutions) and the black patterned wallpaper in the bathroom (which so works for me btw). Last purchased in 2005 for $330K, this 1-bedroom, 2-bath loft was most recently listed on June 30 for $495K and after one hefty price adjustment it found a buyer.
Purchased in June of 2010 for $165K, this ranch style home received a major modern update and then sold for over twice that a little over a year later — $340K. The home contains 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a heated garage that could serve as an artist studio in its 1,208 square feet.
I’m not sure I’d call this a stunning modern contemporary so much as a 1986-built contemporary with serious potential. It’s nearly 2,200 square feet have a good start on stunning with its hardwoods, picture windows, and high ceilings. With a few well-chosen updates, the 3-bedroom, 2-bath home can definitely move into full-fledged stunner territory. Last purchased in 1995 for $250K, this Willamette Heights home most recently sold for $400K.
