Portland is offering 75 open houses this weekend according to Redfin. Even though the count includes only 3 townhouses and 10 condos, I’ve managed to suss out one charming condo in the Northwest and two equally charming homes in the Northeast that you might want to check into.
1810 NW Everett St #104
Built in 1910, this Sutton Place condo is pretty much the definition of period charm with its coved ceilings, hardwoods, and old school light fixtures. Updated kitchen and bath plus new washer/dryer only make this nearly 900 square foot 1-bedroom unit, even more attractive. Listed as a short sale in early September, the price has recently dropped to its current $205K price tag.
5024 NE 34th Ave
This bungalow has a few things in common with the stylish one that was snapped up earlier this week: it is located in Alberta Arts, asking the same price of $369K, and has some enviable hardwoods. However, THIS 3-bedroom, 2-bath bungalow is larger in square footage (2,676 sf) and has an established garden and a mature orchard complete with chicken coop.
1916 NE 28th Ave
If you are in search of an English-style cottage in the Northeast and you haven’t stopped in to check out this remodeled 4-bedroom, 2.5 bath then this weekend might be the right time. The 2,500 square foot home recently dropped its price a second time since listing in July and is now asking $400K — a few thousand below what it sold for in 2005.
