In Portland, a grand total of 56 condos, townhouses, and single family homes sold last week. Notable sales include a condo and a townhouse in the Pearl District that went relatively quickly (and for a gain!), and a West Hills home that took a while to find a buyer but didn’t do too badly on price in the end.
This amazing southeast-facing view…er, I mean 10th floor condo at the Metropolitan closed for $685K. The 2-bedroom, 2-bath condo with 1,311 square feet was listed for a month before going pending, but notably sold for $55K more than it was purchased for in 2007.
A swanky custom townhouse in the Pearl District was listed at the end of June and was under contract in just over a week. The sale closed last week for the 2-bedroom, 2.5 bath unit for $1.175K. That’s $125K more than it last sold for in Feb 2010.
To describe this home as having enormous rooms and high ceilings seems like an understatement. Back in 1989 the land in West Hills was purchased for $56,100 and then the 6,000+ square foot home was completed in 1991. Fast forward to last week when its 4-bedrooms and 3 baths sell for $739K (that’s only $120 per square foot).
